Ukraine says bodycam video shows deadly Russian double-tap bombing

What the report says
Ukraine’s national police have released bodycam footage they say captures the moments between two Russian air strikes on the village of Kamyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to the BBC report, the first strike hit as residents had gathered near a local school to receive humanitarian aid, and the second blast followed soon after, hitting an underground shelter where people had taken cover. The footage was recorded on a police officer’s camera and shows destruction, smoke and residents moving through the rubble before the second impact.
Kyiv says at least 40 people were killed in the attack, and President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 30 others may still be trapped under debris while rescue work continued for a third day. The BBC said Ukraine also reported that nine glide bombs, some weighing as much as 3,000kg, were used in the assault. The shelter was reportedly located near a school used for aid distribution.
The video was released on Wednesday and has been geographically verified by BBC Verify using matching emergency-service footage from the aftermath. The Russian military has not publicly responded. The incident adds to a long-running pattern of Russian strikes on civilian areas in Ukraine, though the BBC notes that allegations of war crimes remain part of Kyiv’s broader accusations rather than a legal finding in this report.
