PDM SACCO Pols End in Dokolo South As RDC Issues Tough Warning on Extortion.

The re-election of Parish Development Model (PDM) SACCO leaders has been completed in three areas of Dokolo South Constituency after the Office of the Resident District Commissioner stepped in to oversee the process. According to Dokolo Post, the earlier voting rounds had been disrupted by misunderstandings, insecurity and other challenges, prompting fresh polls in Oyeng Opere in Kwera Sub-County, Anyacoto Okwongodul in Okwongodul Sub-County, and Western Ward in Dokolo Town Council.

The results showed new leaders elected across the SACCOs. At Oyeng Opere, Adur Dorcus won the treasurer position. At Anyacoto Okwongodul, Ogwal Calvin was elected chairperson, Amuli Jonathan became secretary, and Adero Molly took the treasurer role. In Western Ward, Eladu Pascal defeated the incumbent chairperson, while Ocen Patrick and Ocen Boniface won the vice chairperson and treasurer positions, respectively.

Resident District Commissioner Babra Akech used the occasion to warn SACCO leaders against extortion and demanded transparent management of PDM funds. She cautioned against charging beneficiaries for profiling or access to money, and urged communities to monitor how leaders handle the programme. She also called on leaders to prioritize households that have not yet benefited and avoid favouritism or double payments.

Assistant Resident District Commissioner Isaac Oceng Otime appealed for unity after the elections and asked the newly chosen officials to quickly organize beneficiaries so that funds held in SACCO accounts can be released. The development matters because PDM is a government poverty-reduction programme, and its local leadership is central to whether funds reach intended households and are used productively.
